Preconception Lifestyle
Guess what!? My husband and I are kicking it into high gear and preparing our bodies for BABY #2! We are living a "preconception lifestyle," which means that we are working hard to create the best possible environment for a baby to develop. Ah, seriously so exciting!
Did you know that we have power over gene expression? That means that by manipulating environmental factors such as food, stress, and exercise we can literally change what genes are expressed in our bodies. AND, we can do that before, during, and after pregnancy to help create the healthiest little one possible. That's empowering! And exciting!
In the coming months I'm going to show you what we pray for, how we eat, and how we exercise.
To get you started in the meantime:
- Check out my guest post on my friend Anika's blog, Before my Baby, about my daily routine. There I discuss the food we eat, testosterone-building oil cologne I make for my husband, sex, underwear, exercise, water.... and so much more. Whew, it's so much fun!
- Here are some of my favorite books on the topic:
- Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize - This book shows you how to pray specifically for your baby.
- The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care by Sally Fallon Morrell and Thomas S. Cowan - This book outlines a preconception diet, a pregnancy diet, a post-pregnancy diet, and a diet for you baby.
How to Conceive Naturally: And Have a Healthy Pregnancy after 30 by Christa Orecchio and Willow Buckley - I'm not 30 yet, but this book is still filled with awesome information.
I can't wait to share this journey with you :)
Love,
Serena
