Pregnancy and Infant Safe Bug Repellent

Healthy Living on a Budget Tip #7

Make your own baby-safe bug repellent. There’s nothing better than being outdoors. But if bugs like you, it can be miserable! Make sure you add a homemade bug repellent to your camping or hiking supplies so you can go explore without the red bumps to prove it.

We are going on a big family vacation in a couple of weeks and the prepping has already started. I like to make everything myself to avoid chemicals and to be budget friendly. I make my own facial toner, sunblock (we even have 2 recipes for that), and of course bug spray. Now there always seems to be either a baby or a baby on the way or both in my family... so I like to make products that are super safe. So here's the bug repellent that I am making to bring along, it's a slightly modified version of Mama Natural's recipe

INGREDIENTS

2 oz amber spray bottle

2 oz fractionated coconut oil

10 drops Citronella Essential Oil

10 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil

10 drops Geranium Essential Oil

DIRECTIONS

1. Fill your spray bottle halfway with fractionated coconut oil.

2. Add 10 drops each of Citronella, Cedarwood, and Geranium.

3. Swirl your bottle around to mix.

4. Fill the rest of the bottle up with fractionated coconut oil.

Now you mommas are ready to go explore the outdoors. Hope you enjoy and let me know how it goes.

Love,

Serena

P.S. Where are you going this summer? Leave a comment, I'd love to hear about your adventures!
